Promising Wigan Athletic striker Callum Lang is on the move again this summer, as he heads up to Scotland for a season-long loan at Motherwell.
For Lang, this will be his fourth season-long loan move in as many years. In 2017/18 he joined Morecambe in League Two scoring one in three throughout his 30 games for the Shrimps.
Again the season later he headed to League Two, this time to Oldham Athletic. Lang had been a success after his 13 goals in 42 appearances seemed to be taking him to the brink of the Wigan Athletic first team. Only to be loaned out again last season to Shrewsbury Town. Lang only found the net on two occasions before a foot injury ruled him out for three months.
The 21-year-old would have surely been hoping for a stab at the first team this season, following Wigan’s unjustly relegation to League One. A notion echoed around social media would be that the highest-paid players should be going. While Wigan looks to rebuild the team around the likes of Lang amongst other youngsters, as they aim to restructure the club back into the Championship.
