You could very quickly forgive players and fans alike for getting giddy about Bury’s high-class performances in recent weeks. Courtesy of The Shaker’s wide array of attacking talent, no fewer than 13 goals have been scored in their last three League Two games.
It’s fair to say Bury are becoming the entertainers of League Two with growing voices saying creative maestro, Danny Mayor is arguably the best player in England’s fourth tier.
Yet despite talk of the likes of Mayor and Nicky Maynard being Bury’s biggest stars, a player behind them in Jay O’Shea has also put in some high-level performances in recent weeks.
O’Shea broke the deadlock on Saturday, as Bury took on fellow play-off rivals Stevenage at home. His opener got the ball rolling and by 5 o’clock Bury had another handsome scoreline to their name.
The Irishmen added another to his name as Bury finally found their stride in what was turning into a nervy afternoon at Gigg.
Yet it’s not the first time O’Shea has found the net in recent weeks, he is actually getting into a run in front of goal. 5 goals in his last six games have O’Shea putting in the numbers Maynard, Moore and Mayor would be proud of.
O’Shea may not be the best technical player in the side, however, he is certainly making a name for himself on the scoresheet.
All bodes well for Lowe as the busy festive period is only round the corner. Bury may have their very own present in O’Shea, he’s quickly looking like one of many who can take Bury to the top of the League Two tree.
