In game week 5 of the Virtual Pro Gaming English league, we take a look at how Wigan Athletic, Rochdale and Salford City are finding the eSports league.

Rochdale eSports Team

Rochdale, similar to Salford City are struggling in the VPG Premier League. Three defeats – 3-1 v Bristol Rovers, 4-0 v Bradford City & 5-0 to Plymouth Argyle who made it a hat-trick of wins against our Greater Manchester teams.

Rochdale slid down to second bottom and a ‘6-pointer’ against Salford City awaits at the start of Gameweek 6.

Wigan Athletic eSports Team

Wigan Athletic got themselves back on track with a 3-0 win over Cardiff City and a 2-0 Southend Utd.

A defeat at the start of the week to Plymouth Argyle 2-0 is their only loss in the last five matches as they remain midtable, however only two points off the top four.

Salford City eSports Team

Salford City endured another tough week in the VPG Premier League. Defeats to Tranmere Rovers 7-0, Northampton 4-0 and Plymouth Argyle 4-1 see the Ammies drop to the foot of the table.

Up next is Rochdale who is within two points of Salford.
