In game week 3 of the Virtual Pro Gaming English league, we take a look at how Wigan Athletic, Rochdale and Salford City are finding the eSports league.

Rochdale eSports Team

Rochdale endured another tough week in the league suffering two heavy defeats. Dale started the week with a 5-0 defeat to QPR, followed by a 6-1 defeat to Tranmere Rovers. A 0-0 draw against Cardiff City seen them add one more point to their previous three.

Rochdale lies 15th in the 18 team league with four points and yet to taste victory.

Wigan Athletic eSports Team

Wigan Athletic are faring the best out of our three Greater Manchester teams so far this eSports season.

A 1-0 default win over Leyton Orient followed by a 2-0 win against Northampton Town seen the Latics extend their unbeaten run to five matches. Unfortunately, that came to an end with a 2-1 defeat versus Oxford Utd.

Wigan is currently in fifth, six points off the top spot, held by Bradford City.

Salford City eSports Team

Salford City currently lies joint bottom with Bristol Rovers on three points. One point out of a possible twelve this week, in which they suffered two heavy defeats from the leagues top two – 5-0 v Bradford City and 5-1 v Southend.

The start of the week saw them grab a point from mid-table Lincoln City with a 1-1 draw followed by a 2-1 defeat off Cardiff City.

Salford like Rochdale are yet to taste a victory in this league, they’ll be hoping that game week 4 is a better week.
