The Football Manc Cave are looking at two players who you should look out for tonight in Man City’s Under 23 clash with Chelsea.
The development squads at Man City come with some very high standards and talent. Nothing else should be expected with the standards of the first team and the pressure Pep Guardiola put on his squad.
The Under 23’s are in action against Chelsea’s youth and we’ve picked out a couple of players who will make a difference for Man City and probably end up breaking into the first team squad sooner rather than later.
The striker managed to bag the only Man City goal in the Under 23’s clash with Tottenham. The Spanish forward arrived at City from Valencia with a lot to prove. He’s also proved that his pace is something that causes problems for the opposition. The 18 year old has been a part of Spain’s youth sides and is in contract with Man City until 2020, so he will be looking to make an impression before then. He made headlines when he joined City so he’ll be looking to make them again for all the right reasons.
Another player that stood out against Tottenham was Harwood-Bellis for his defending ability. He managed a few great clearances and interceptions. He’s also only 17 years old and being given a chance already at this level rather than just academy. Man City have brought him through the ranks of their youth and he is contracted until 2021 so he’s got more time to develop, grow and impress in his career.
