Zak Dearnley will be out of contract at Man United at the end of the season but where will he go?
A tweet suggested yesterday that Swindon Town and Grimsby Town lead the race to sign the former Man United attacker. Until the transfer happens, fans of both teams will be wondering how the 20-year-old can help their team.
He spent his youth career at Man United and in 2017 he was on the bench for the last game of the season against Crystal Palace. Mourinho had Dearnley training with the first team in the 2018/19 campaign until Oldham Athletic showed interest in 2019, when they asked him to sign on a loan period.
The youngster made his professional debut against in February against Crawley Town, and he managed to score in a 3-0 victory. Unfortunately for him, his contract was soon terminated in April after he suffered an injury.
Let’s say he can keep fit, on the 30th of June when his United contract expires, which League Two side will he be better suited at?
They finished 13th in league two last season on 64 points. Manager Richie Wellens will be eager to better his teams finishing position next season, so he will be looking for potential signings. He has just recruited defender, Zeki Fryers and now Zak could be his next target.
Grimsby finished further down in league two, they ended the season on 56 points in 17th position.
However, something for Dearnley to consider, Michael Jolley, the clubs manager has just signed two strikers, James Hanson and Matt Green. If the ex-United player was to move here, he might be part of an exciting and strong new forward and midfield line that could create goals.
Where do you think he’d be better off going?
