Stoke City and Aston Villa go head to head over Man Utd defender

Man United defender, Axel Tuanzebe has gained interest from Stoke City and Aston Villa. According to the Daily Mail, Man United want to keep hold of him.

The offers these clubs are making are expected to be rejected, as Tuanzebe has been put in the first-team plans at Old Trafford ahead of the season.

The 21-year-old is wanted by Stoke, and apparently only on a loan basis as Ryan Shawcross is out with a broken ankle which he picked up in pre-season. This leaves Nathan Jones looking for a replacement.

Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest have also registered their interest as he impressed at Villa Park last season. However, as well as Man United looking likely to reject any bids, the defender is also reluctant to leave his current club as he wants the chance to impress at Old Trafford.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also prepared to move out one of his defenders after the arrival of Harry Maguire. However, the injury that Eric Bailey has sustained means he doesn’t want to leave himself short of cover options. This also means that Solskjaer needs the 21-year-old to step up to Premier League football.

It’s a fair plan from Man United, as they’ve just spent so much on Maguire that building their own players and making them step up to league football is a sensible option. Hopefully, Tuanzebe can pull through, have a good season, stand out to clubs and push up his fees in case he wants to leave in the future, although right now, he should be given a chance.

These two Man Utd youngsters must start against AC Milan tomorrow, agree?

A big season is ahead of Man Utd and this summer has taught us that the players, in particular, have to be match-ready.

Solskjaer has one game left in pre-season against AC Milan, in Wales. Should he come away with a victory, Man Utd will be unbeaten in six games.

However, Man Utd’s previous game against Norway’s mid-table Kristiansund it proved that the Reds lacked quality in the final third. There were also instances of terrible organisation in defence, struggling with crosses and counter-attacks.

According to reports and rumours, Man Utd’s most likely transfers are Bruno Fernandes, Paulo Dybala and Harry Maguire. Sticking these players into the current squad patches up the weaknesses and faults in a promising team. Investment is what is needed to compliment the strives made by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Man Utd fans grow increasingly frustrated with the investment made in this summer transfer window, amongst others. Recent antics by Man Utd’s board tell us that the rumoured-ins for the club are far from guaranteed.

With this in mind, The Football Manc Cave brings you two young players in particular who should be given game time against AC Milan. They may have to be ready to step-in should Man Utd fail to secure any more signatures…

Axel Tuanzebe

As mentioned, Man Utd’s defence is still abysmal. Without Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the mix, there is no one you can trust 100%. Tuanzebe, 21, had a fantastic season in Championship last season. He helped them to the point of promotion and had fans singing his name. He has the potential to be a Man Utd centre-back and has stated that he wants to be just that, we just have to see the proof in the pudding.

According to reports, Tuanzebe is currently linked with a loan move back to Aston Villa, as well as being linked with Newcastle United. Demonstrating that teams want him to prevent demotion for their club. However, it also indicates that Man Utd may be purchasing a defender.

Mason Greenwood

Solskjaer’s only proven natural striker is 17-year old Mason Greenwood. Despite Anthony Martial being very clinical, and Marcus Rashford being powerful, Greenwood has more of a natural number nine instinct. His movement and awareness have people likening him to Robin Van Persie, a man who won Man Utd the Premier League.

Man Utd are lacking quality in front of goal, and should it be Lukaku or Dybala who has a bad season for the Reds, Greenwood could be the one who saves the season for them.

PSG’s Neymar to Man Utd is a non-starter – Here are two reasons why

According to The Sun, Neymar has offered himself to Manchester United. The Football Manc Cave explore two reasons why Ole Gunnar Solskjær should reject his offer.

Barcelona was rumoured to be interested in the striker, however, they failed to raise the £198 million transfer funds required. The 27-year-old desperately wants to leave his current club, PSG. However, the fact that Man United failed to make Champions League football last season may be one factor to why Neymar ends up elsewhere.

The Paris Saint Germain player is also meant to be unhappy at the fact he’s not considered the biggest name at his current club, as that has fallen to Kylian Mbappe. It appears that any big European club would be an option for Neymar. The final decision for the star to leave will have to come from club managers and owners after it was revealed that he requested to leave ‘weeks ago.’

A lot of fans are reacting to this story claiming it’s unrealistic, whether it is or it isn’t, here are two reasons why it’s not a good move for the player or the club…

Cost

In my opinion, this story will already put Man United fans off the striker as he’s apparently offered himself to the club knowing they don’t have Champions League football to look forward to. It kind of sounds like Neymar will make a change to the Manchester side only if he has to.

Why would you offer yourself to a club knowing they don’t have everything you’re looking for? With that in mind, I don’t think Solskjær and owners will allow the transfer of the PSG player to go ahead with the cost of him. £198 million plus his fees are too much for a player who is already causing controversy.

Trouble

A lot of football fans know that the reputation of the player isn’t exactly good. On the pitch, yes, off the pitch, not so much. He’s a player that gains negative headlines. Admitting himself that he isn’t a good role model or inspiration to young people. Man United want to focus on playing good football again and finishing high in the league as they are used to, not covering negative headlines surrounding the player. As much as he may be an ideal addition to the team when he’s playing, his reputation and the cost is something to consider for the club.

Fans who aren’t keen on Neymar may be happy to read that Juventus are now also entering talks with him. I’m sure there will be more news in the next few days or even a couple of hours with how fast the Neymar news is changing.

Man Utd have 2 reasons why they should go for Chelsea midfielder

There are rumours of a transfer race for Chelsea midfielder, Tiémoué Bakayoko and Manchester United are one team named as being interested.

Today at the Football Manc Cave, we are looking at reasons why Man United should advance on signing him.

The 24-year-old has found himself in an unlikely transfer race with Arsenal, Man United and PSG all monitoring him in the hope to get his signature. He’s had a shaky start in his career, especially at Chelsea as he found himself in a couple of red card situations. As you can imagine, that didn’t leave the best impression on the fans and other teams.

The Frenchman spent last season on loan at AC Milan after his disappointing spell at Stamford Bridge. It was there where Bakayoko improved which explains the sudden development of interest. The ex-Monaco player is now in pre-season training and being watched by new Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard.

So if he does decide that a change would do him good, why should Ole Gunnar Solskjaer go all out for him?

He Will Give It His All

This might be an obvious statement to make. All footballers who want to make it should be putting 100% effort in. However, not only will he be determined to get appearances, but he will also want to prove his improving form.

When he played for Monaco in the 2016/17 season, in an interview, he revealed how he had been suffering from a knee injury. He had been having problems since 2015, although he only addressed the issue in 2017. He said, “people don’t know but throughout the whole of last season, I suffered because of my knee. I had to grit my teeth in every match.” Now that he appears to be over this, I’m sure he’ll give it his all even more.

Champions League

Man United missed out on qualifying for Champions League football at the end of last season. Fans will be hoping for a better campaign this football season that sees the Red Devil’s end up back where they belong. If they do, Bakayoko is no stranger to the competition. He was with Monaco since 2014 and in the 2016/17 season, he contributed to their Ligue 1 title win.

As an individual, he was then named in the 2016/17 UEFA Champions League squad of the season before he joined Chelsea for £40 million. Let’s just hope he wants to be a part of a Man United side that wants to fight to be a part of Champions League football, rather than being put off by the fact they won’t be playing it next season.

Revolving Door: Man United Women’s 2 In, 2 Out Before The Transfer Window Shuts

After a fantastic first year as a team, Manchester United Women got promoted to the WSL. Who should they sign to better their 2019/20 campaign?

The Women’s Super League will prove a difficult challenge for Man United’s women as they play teams such as Man City and Arsenal. They were only founded in 2018 and made it an unbelievable season in the championship; finishing 1st and bagged themselves promotion. With the tough competition ahead, I had a think about who Man United should sign and who they could get rid of before the transfer window is over.

This has been a hard decision as United have already released Charlie Devlin, Naomi Hartley, Lucy Roberts and Ebony Salmon. I’ve picked out two players who may benefit from a loan spell somewhere else and two players who the Red Devil’s could look into for a great future.

IN:

Sam Kerr

The Australian star has been one of the hot topic players of this World Cup. The 26-year-old currently plays for Chicago Red Stars where she has scored 22 goals in 26 appearances. She managed to bag four goals in one game in this World Cup and has become a talking point even though Australia is now out. It has been said that English clubs have shown a lot of interest in her and she may be open to a move.

Alex Morgan

The 29-year-old American striker scored 5 goals in USA’s 13-0 win over Thailand. Fans think she would make a great addition to the club even though she is an unlikely player to move, but she is a Man United fan as she has posted pictures of herself wearing a United too on her Instagram. Fans respect this and it has been said in the past that she could be a Manchester United ‘perfect fit.’

OUT:

Fran Bentley:

The 18-year-old keeper will be great as she gets to be a team’s first choice in the future, whether that be Man United or another team. As I said at the beginning of this article, it’s been hard picking players to leave, however, she did go on loan to Sheffield United at the end of the 2019 season where she gained six appearances. Maybe she would benefit going on loan again to boost her experience or even leaving.

Aimee Palmer

A passionate and loveable player who fans will want to stay, although she doesn’t have a great track record with appearances. She was with Bristol in 2017 to 2018 and only played 14 times. After moving to United in 2018, she has only played 13 times. This is just a small factor to why she may benefit from going on loan for a while.

Hot Prospect: Real Zaragoza Mateo Mejia could be worth big money for Man Utd

With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer out to build Man United’s youth and first-team squad this summer, he could be about to sign a bargain.

It looks like Mateo Mejia could be the next Old Trafford arrival. He is only 16 years old but has built up a reputation of being a goal scorer at Zaragoza. If the signing goes ahead, the transfer fee that’s apparently set in stone is only £600,000. Mejia has had interest from not only English teams, but La Liga teams too and United seem to have beaten everyone to the youngster.

The Spanish wonder-kid will be hoping to prove his potential in the Red Devil’s youth squad first of all, but he could easily and quickly break into the first team. This will make Mejia the second summer signing before the new season starts.

With United beating potential other clubs in signing the 16-year-old, they could have an exciting investment on their hands. With the goal scorer being so young, United could now build him up to be a great player, and the other teams who missed out on signing him for such a good fee will get a chance to see him develop and see how he turns out.

Imagine if he becomes a great member of the United team, there’s a chance that he could become worth a lot more than what Solskjær agreed for him.

Norwich City should be doing everything they can to keep Max Aarons from Man United – Agree

Ole Gunnar Solskjær is looking for young talent, especially in defence and his next recruit could possibly be Norwich City’s Max Aarons.

With Antonio Valencia departing the Red Devil’s and an inexperienced Diogo Dalot at the back, it’s clear that United need some more options for their back four. 19-year-old Aarons is on Solskjær’s radar but Norwich shouldn’t and probably won’t let him go.

Max started his youth career at Luton and was there from 2009 to 2014. He signed for Norwich in 2016 and has developed ever since. In 41 appearances for the club, he’s even managed two goals.

Aarons is contracted to Norwich until 2023 and he has asked to wear the number 2 shirt next season as he goes into his first Premier League season. He hasn’t yet given Norwich any indication that he wants to leave, and the Canaries have explained how they will try not to overspend following their promotion but are equally determined to keep their best players.

Here’s why I think they should keep Aarons…

Product

He’s a product of Luton Town’s youth. However, seeing as he’s been with Norwich since 2016, they should take the credit for his past couple of years progress and keep him going into a new league. He helped them gain promotion and they will have to play teams like United next season. Instead of selling their best players to new competition, they should be proud of the team that got them promoted and keep them.

Awards

In March 2019, Aarons was named in the Championship team of the season for 2018/19, and he even won EFL young player of the season in the same year. This has got to give Norwich something to shout about and give an exciting prospect as they move into the highest tier of English football.

‘So if we play Japan every week we might get a decent season out of him’ ‘The problem is clearly Manchester’ Man Utd Fans React To Sanchez’ display

United forward, Alexis Sanchez grabbed one goal and an assist for Chile in the Copa America on Monday, but it’s divided Man United fans.

The striker has recently revealed that he never felt as bad as he did after the Red Devil’s disappointing season. He only managed one goal in twenty appearances last season and now the reds could be willing to part with him if a club was to make an offer.

After his successful match the other night, it seems to have divided fans on Twitter. Some think he still isn’t good enough, some are blaming United and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for the player’s faults and lack of goals. However, then there’s some that are jumping to his defence…

Man Utd fans React to ‘He’s Too God Damn Good’ Bruno Fernandes’ performance for Portugal

According to the Daily Star, Man United will announce the signing of Sporting midfielder Bruno Fernandes after the conclusion of Nations League 2019, with the fee rumoured to be around £62 million.

Fernandes and another proposed target for United, Joao Felix, both featured in Portugal’s 3-1 victory over Switzerland. Cristiano Ronaldo’s hat-trick deserves a mention.

Dan James will be Solksjaer’s first summer signing, assuming he passes the planned medical. He will join United in a deal that could be worth up to £18 million. It’s looking like their transfer strategy is to sign young, hungry talent that will give everything to wear the famous red shirt. The bang opposite to Alexis Sanchez, basically.

The massive re-building process is underway, let’s see what United fans made of Fernandes’ performance last night…

Can FC United’s Win Be The Kickstart They Need to Ensure Safety

This weekend saw FC United finally break the curse of the New Buck’s Head, as the Red’s left Telford United with all 3 points in what was their 6th away win of the season. After being unbeaten in 4 games, it looks as if Neil Reynolds side are hitting top form at the most crucial time of the season.

The men from Broadhurst Park have travelled down to the New Buck’s Head four times in their 14 year history, and have lost every time and never even taken the lead in these previous encounters. However, after drawing their last 3 matches by playing some fantastic football, many red’s were feeling hopeful going into last weekend’s match.

On Saturday morning FC United announced their new signing, Dominic McHale, who would become their 54th player of their season when he was selected in the starting 11. The midfielder who was at Manchester City’s Academy has previously played for many clubs local to FC United, including Salford, Trafford, Hyde and Ramsbottom. The experienced player opened the scoring on the 33rd minute, after winger Jack Bannister made a run into the box where he passed to McHale who slotted it home from the penalty spot.

Just eight minutes into the second half, Kurt Willoughby doubled FC’s advantage after Jack Bannister once again assisted for the goal, as he broke away at pace and passed to his striking partner inside the box who’s shot hit the back of the net. It took just seven minutes for FC to once again extend their lead, after Jack Bannister got his third assist of the afternoon as he passed it to Tom Peers. Who had been on the pitch for just four minutes after replacing McHale, slotted home to allow the men in red to go 3-0 up as his shot from inside the box flew past the Telford keeper.

The away side looked to be comfortable with a 3-0 advantage however, in the 91st minute the Buck’s narrowed the lead to just two goals after Ellis Deeney, brother of Watford’s striker and Captain Troy Deeney, stepped up to score a consolation penalty.

Neil Reynold’s team have massively improved their play over the past few matches, which has been evident in the fact they are now four games unbeaten. On Monday, Reynolds was also announced as the National League North’s manager of the weekend, with Kurt Willoughby and Jack Bannister also being included in the team of the week.

This weekend the Red’s host an inform York City side at Broadhurst Park, and with both teams hitting top form at a crucial time of the season, this match looks like one that should not be missed.
