If the transfer rumours are true, here is how Man Utd XI will start in January – impressive

The Football Manc Cave have scoured the latest Man Utd transfer gossip around the papers. As Solskjaer edges closer to his second window and to date his most important month, he could end up with this team below.

After a fairly decent summer window, in which he strengthened the much-depleted defence. Two areas that now are key is midfield and attack. If Man Utd want to achieve a top 4 finish, there is a feeling it’s a ‘go big or go home’ window for the Man Utd legend.

With many names already being linked to Old Trafford, the below names are the consistent ones in the paper. They would certainly add an extra dimension to the team and provide a much-needed freshness.

Ben Chilwell

The Leicester City defender is pretty much on Man Utd’s radar alongside his teammate James Maddison. It could see further business being made between the two sides, following Harry Maguires move in the summer.

Chilwell would certainly be an upgrade on the inconsistent Luke Shaw, whose time at Old Trafford hasn’t exactly gone to plan.

James Maddison

Man Utd has been linked with the Premier League assist king for a while now. United lack a creative spark in the midfield, and the English man could certainly be the answer.

Ivan Rakitic

The Barcelona 31-year-old is out of favour at the Nou Camp, often finding himself on the bench. Which is a stark contrast from being the main man in the past.

Fred and Matic are not what United need, and the experienced Rakitic could be a key member of the second half of the season transformation.

Mario Mandzukic

The Juventus striker is no longer required in Serie A. A shrewd move to bring in the experienced and well-travelled forward could be a stroke of genius.

Solskjaer would be hoping to see a Henrik Larsson or Zlatan Ibrahimovic impact by bringing in the 33-year-old. It’s something United needs and allows Rashford to progress without the pressure of being the sole provider.

These 2 out of form Man Utd players should be nowhere near the starting 11 against Liverpool

If Solskjaer wants to change at Man United, he’s going to have to start dropping a few under-performers. Some injury concerns at Old Trafford have made it difficult for the boss. However, here are two players that shouldn’t be in the starting line up.

People are calling this Man United team the worst they’ve seen in years. While the recent form certainly backs up that statement, not all players are that bad.

There’s a select few who have stood out like Daniel James. A move to Old Trafford has done him wonders. Harry Maguire is another player who is good, he just hasn’t got the right partner in defence.

It’s safe to say that January can’t come quick enough for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. However, here are two players who he should drop due to poor performances…

Ashley Young

To be fair to Solskjaer, he’s not had much of an option due to players being out. Injuries to other defenders like Aaron Wan-Bissaka have meant he’s had to play Young.

However, fans are getting frustrated with his performances. He even got subbed against Newcastle late on.

He’s playing as the Man United Captain but he’s not a leader in my opinion. A re-shuffle of the Captain’s arm-band might take some pressure off him.

Fred

I think it’s time that Solskjaer was a little harsher on Fred.

Dropping someone from your squad can always make them more determined and motivated to get back in it. That’s what needs to happen with the midfielder.

Fans have called him out as being one of the worst players in the squad. Especially against Newcastle. They’ve also said he’s worse than they imagined him to be. Solskjaer needs to listen and sort it out now.

2 in-form players for Man Utd that need to play Liverpool this weekend

Man United have got a tough clash this weekend as they host Liverpool. The Premier League current toppers will be looking for another 3 points. Here are two Man United players who can help stop that from happening.

It goes without saying that Liverpool is the favourites this weekend. It will be an even harder job for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men to get some points.

However, that won’t stop them trying and being at home could help matters.

Solskjaer also has some players fit again after time out. This gives him more of an option when it comes to picking his team. It will also help him to change things around.

Daniel James

The 21-year-old has been playing for Wales on the international break. He has impressed critics and fans in the open wing stages of the season.

The ex Swansea player has been consistent for Man United so far. He has shown he deserves to be in one of the Premier League giants squads.

This is why he should be given a chance against Liverpool this weekend.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

There are rumours that the defender will be available this weekend. If he is, Solskjaer should definitely take advantage of that.

This would give players like Ashley Young a chance to rest as his performance hasn’t been great recently.

Maybe these players coming back from injury will be the answer Man United need. At least that’s what fans are hoping.

3 players Solskjaer needs to bring to Man Utd in January with money to spend

According to ESPN, Manchester United are ready to spend in January. The Football Manc Cave look at 3 players who could be on the list.

If Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can keep his job until January, he could get a January spending spree.

Fans will be hoping that he can bring in a few players to refresh the poor squad. The form at Old Trafford isn’t great. Fans with high expectations have had enough.

Bosses at Man United have accepted that replacements for the summer departures were not found in time. January could be that second chance. However, overspending is something they are not willing to do.

Here are three players that Man United should make a priority…

Declan Rice

The 20-year-old has made a huge impact at West Ham. Man United have already been linked with Rice in terms of being interested in him.

However, it looks like a move to Old Trafford would take a lot of convincing. Declan seems content with the Hammers.

If some sort of deal could be made, he would be a great addition. He’s young, determined, skilful and could inspire the rest of the Man United team.

Mario Mandzukic

The Juventus striker is looking for a club to join. This comes after he was told he wouldn’t be a part of plans at Juventus this season.

He’s 33 so while he’s experienced, his career is also coming to an end. However, he could be a part of a short term plan at Old Trafford.

On top of that, he could also inspire, educate and be a leader to the youngsters at Man United. He may also be a cheaper option.

Eric Dier

Some will disagree with this pick. However, Tottenham is supposedly having a ‘January clear out.’

Eric Dier may be on that list. This would be an opportunity for Man United. They could get themselves a defensive midfielder and centre back for the price of one.

My guess is that he will want to prove Spurs wrong and be successful elsewhere. So why not pick Man United and help them get back on top?

Man Utd fans react to Liverpool combined XI – ‘Pogba, Maguire walk into that team and De Gea is as good as Allison in my opinion a better keeper’

Danny Mills was asked to select a combined starting eleven of Man United and Liverpool players. However, it went viral after the team featured no Man United players.

The team he selected was shared on Sky’s twitter page…

He selected Alisson in goal. The defence consisted of Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk and Robertson.

Mills then put Henderson, Fabinho and Wijnaldum in midfield. Mo Salah, Firmino and Mane took the forward spots.

He also said that Man United players would struggle to make the bench. Man United haven’t been on top of their game recently. However, that hasn’t stopped fans reacting to this team on Twitter as some found it hilarious. It got fans talking and some thought the selection was perfect.

Twitter Reacts:

Smart Move: Allegri to bring in former Man Utd favourite to Old Trafford

According to The Daily Mail, Massimiliano Allegri has plans for if he was to get the Man United job. He wants to bring in Patrice Evra as backroom staff.

Evra played for the Red Devil’s between 2006 and 2014. Hungry fans would love to see him make a return to Old Trafford.

The defender became a popular player for Man United. He was a part of the team that won 5 Premier League titles and a Champions League one.

However, could he be part of the staff and management that changes things for Man United?

Massimiliano Allegri

The 52-year-old had a footballing career as a midfielder. He’s now turned to managing and Old Trafford could be his next mission.

He is currently out of a job but his most recent position was Juventus manager. This would make him immediately available if he was needed.

Man United’s current form isn’t as it used to be. Despite the transfer talk around the club that could come in January, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could be replaced earlier.

Patrice Evra

Allegri and Evra have worked together in the past. Although, it is said that the ex Juventus manager ‘promised’ Evra a job with him if he was to move to the Manchester side.

Not only would it be a sensible option that’s approved by fans, but it would also benefit Patrice.

It would give him experience whether it be player-coach, assistant or just part of the fitness team. It’s something for him to add to his profile.

If a managerial role is something Evra is working towards, why not start with a club he made a huge impact on?

However, this is all relying on Solskjaer and whether he will be sacked or given longer.

Forget Rakitic: Man Utd should go for this La Liga star instead

According to The Sun, Man United are interested in La Liga Star, Ivan Rakitic. However, The Football Manc Cave have picked out a player who might be a better target.

Barcelona wants to offload their midfielder and Man United wouldn’t be a bad shout. However, Barcelona is demanding around £35 million.

Man United could spend their money a little more wisely. Rakitic is a good player and it wouldn’t be a bad thing to see him at Old Trafford. I just think, if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking for a La Liga option, there are better options.

Rakitic is more of a central midfielder who can attack and defend. Although, I think this particular winger would be more effective in a Man United shirt…

Gareth Bale

I know, his name has come up with links to Man United before. He has rejected their advances in the past and could possibly again.

However, it’s known that he is an ‘unwanted man,’ at the moment. His current team, Real Madrid don’t seem to want him.

He looks like a man who wants a change too. Man United might not be the place he ends up but it certainly wouldn’t be ground upon if they tried to tempt him to Old Trafford.

All Rounder

Bale is a hard-working individual. He puts everything into a game and is refreshing to watch.

Imagine what he could teach to some of the younger inexperienced Man United squad members. I truly think he would lead and motivate an underperforming Man United side.

It might take a lot to pull off signing him, although, weirder things have happened in football. Even if he doesn’t make a move to Manchester, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer attempting to sign him would make a bold statement.

Forget Mandzukic: Here’s 2 other strikers Man Utd should go for

According to The Express, Man United have made a verbal agreement with Juventus striker, Mario Mandzukic. It looks like Solskjaer’s first recruitment for the January transfer window has been made.

Juventus have basically told Mario Mandzukic that he won’t be in the squad plans for the remainder of this season. This has left him looking for another club.

It now looks like a deal worth around £10 million could be made to bring him to Old Trafford. It’s quite a clever move by Solskjaer to go for a player looking for a new home. Especially months before the transfer window opens.

However, the Juventus striker is now 33 and never had Premier League experience. While he might drive younger teammates forward at Man United, his career might be coming to an end.

This is why we’ve picked out two more strikers who could be more effective at Old Trafford.

Aleksandr Sobolev

The 22-year-old striker would be a younger and cheaper option. He currently plays for KS Samara.

It would cost Man United around £1.8 million (according to Transfermarkt) to bring him into their squad. The striker has scored 10 goals in 13 appearances for the Russian side.

However, his impressive form has got other clubs interested in him. This will mean that Man United would have to move fast.

Donyell Malen

The 20-year-old is one of Holland’s hottest prospects. He has scored 16 goals in 18 appearances for PSV Eindhoven so far this season.

He is currently valued at around £16.2 million on Transfermarkt. Some may recognise his name, as he used to be in the Arsenal squad. However, a move back to a Premier League side may be easier for him than it would be for others.

Again, Man United would have to act fast because he is a wanted man by other teams. This includes Liverpool. It also includes his old club, Arsenal, who both see the potential.

‘Done deal’- Serie A striker to join Man United in January

It looks like Man United have their first January recruit in their hunt to freshen up their squad. Although, according to The Express, a verbal agreement has been made with Mario Mandzukic.

Man United fans may recognise Mandzukic’s name. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has shown his interest before but failed to strike a deal. Now it’s being said that a verbal agreement has been made ahead of January.

If the Man United boss wants to add him to his squad, Juventus will want £10 million. In desperate times, it’s a price that Solskjaer will have to pay.

Mario Mandzukic

The 33-year-old will be wanting a move in January. This comes after current Juventus boss, Maurizio Sarri told the striker that he won’t be featuring in his plans for the rest of this season.

After spells with Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid, it looks like a move to the Premier League is on the cards.

Solskjaer

The Man United boss needs to recruit players urgently. That’s obvious. However, players of the standards required won’t be interested in a move to a team with bad form.

There’s no appeal at Old Trafford. No Champions League football. Poor form and some current players don’t even want to be there anymore.

This is why it’s a difficult situation for Solskjaer to be in. However, targeting players like Mandzukic is clever and tactical.

The 33-year-old knows he won’t get game time at Juventus so a logical move will be to the Premier League. If more players who need a new home in January are targeted now by Man United scouts, then they have a chance.

However, fans will argue that this should have been solved a while back.

Man Utd need to prioritise 20y/o Premier League midfielder in January

With things at Old Trafford not going to plan, January can’t come soon enough for Man United. According to The Mirror, Declan Rice is someone who could be a priority for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer when the transfer window opens again.

Manchester United fans would be happy with pretty much any signing that could improve their current form. Solskjaer is going to have a difficult time in January. The appeal for players to move to Old Trafford isn’t the same as it used to be.

There is no Champions League football, Premier League points are being scraped in and the current form is overall poor. Fortunately for the Man United boss, money in football is everything these days and money is something the reds have.

It’s the perfect time for the scouts at Man United to be making their list of priorities for the January transfer window. One of the rumoured players is West Ham’s Declan Rice.

West Ham

The Hammers have had a great start to the season. 20-year-old Declan Rice has been a stand out performer.

The young midfielder is an England international as well as a key part in Manuel Pellegrini’s side.

This is why he’s drawn attention to himself and teams like Man United are on his case. However, when January does come along, Solskjaer will have a very hard job on his hands.

Rice has spoken about the rumours and addressed the fact that he’s just signed a 5-year contract with West Ham. He thinks that the club is the best place for him at this time. He also wants to stay with current manager, Pellegrini.

Man United

There would have to be a lot of negotiations from Man United and probably a lot of money involved. Although it really doesn’t look like the 20-year-old will be convinced that a move to Old Trafford is the right thing to do.

Man United could really use his skill, style of play and determination. They could also benefit from his age. He’s got a long career ahead of him and experience will be key.

The football coming out of Old Trafford is not at the standard that fans expect. There are weaknesses in every area so any player that can be drafted in will be a success at this point. It’s just a shame for Man United that Rice seems to have his heart set on staying with West Ham.
