POLL: Who was the better player; Wigan Athletic’s James or Norwich City’s Aarons?

Last season it was Bradley Dack vs Nick Powell. Now it’s Reece James vs Max Aarons. James is the right answer by the way, not that I’m biased in any way being a Wigan fan.

Both are very good young English talents. Considering neither had played a first-team match before this season, they’ve had exceptional seasons. Aarons winning the league with Norwich and being named in EFL team of the season. While James won every end of the season award at Wigan and is expected to be in Chelsea’s first-team squad when he returns from injury.

Lets take a look at both…..

I was lucky enough to watch James last season. He’s the best player I’ve ever seen at Wigan. A player that just oozes class and makes the game look so simple. Signed as a reserve right-back, left after playing the majority of the season in central midfield, and bossing most Championship midfielders. Strength, pace, set-pieces, passing, shooting, tackling, brilliant attitude – he’s got it all.

Unfortunately, I’ve not seen as much of Aarons. Although, from what I have seen, he’s a top player. A real modern day full-back who is brilliant attacking-wise, however also very strong defensively.

The youngster scored twice, assisting six and is attracting serious interest from Man United. On the subject, England are blessed with some ridiculous right backs: Trent Alexander Arnold, Max Aarons, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Reece James, even throw Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier into the mix.

Dean Henderson’s pivotal season – Aim to keep up Sheffield Utd up or hunt down Man Utd’s GK jersey

It’s the million dollar question – will David De Gea be a Man United player come August? If he is, Dean Henderson will likely sign for Sheffield United on loan again. If De Gea leaves, they have a young keeper that is desperate for a chance to prove his worth at Old Trafford.

The Blades manager Chris Wilder will be hoping he can get Henderson back for another season. After he brilliantly performed all of last season, keeping 21 clean sheets, while conceding just 41 goals.

Promoted teams will focus on building a strong side, with a spine they can trust to keep them up. Henderson provides that quality and stability in goal, which pumps confidence into his defenders knowing they’ve got a top ‘keeper playing behind them.

The highly-rated England international is confident in his abilities, feeling he deserves a run in the United side:

“It’s a tough one to say where. But do I think I should be playing at Manchester United now? Yes, I do. I think I am good enough and I would help the team a lot, in a positive way.”

With Solksjaer already signing Daniel James and being linked with moves for Max Aarons and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, it seems like he’s looking to sign young, ambitious players. Henderson falls into that category – will he get his long-awaited opportunity to nail down the number one spot at Old Trafford?

Norwich City should be doing everything they can to keep Max Aarons from Man United – Agree

Ole Gunnar Solskjær is looking for young talent, especially in defence and his next recruit could possibly be Norwich City’s Max Aarons.

With Antonio Valencia departing the Red Devil’s and an inexperienced Diogo Dalot at the back, it’s clear that United need some more options for their back four. 19-year-old Aarons is on Solskjær’s radar but Norwich shouldn’t and probably won’t let him go.

Max started his youth career at Luton and was there from 2009 to 2014. He signed for Norwich in 2016 and has developed ever since. In 41 appearances for the club, he’s even managed two goals.

Aarons is contracted to Norwich until 2023 and he has asked to wear the number 2 shirt next season as he goes into his first Premier League season. He hasn’t yet given Norwich any indication that he wants to leave, and the Canaries have explained how they will try not to overspend following their promotion but are equally determined to keep their best players.

Here’s why I think they should keep Aarons…

He’s a product of Luton Town’s youth. However, seeing as he’s been with Norwich since 2016, they should take the credit for his past couple of years progress and keep him going into a new league. He helped them gain promotion and they will have to play teams like United next season. Instead of selling their best players to new competition, they should be proud of the team that got them promoted and keep them.

In March 2019, Aarons was named in the Championship team of the season for 2018/19, and he even won EFL young player of the season in the same year. This has got to give Norwich something to shout about and give an exciting prospect as they move into the highest tier of English football.

Two Reasons Why Norwich City’s Max Aarons Is Worth The Punt For Man Utd Over Wan-Bissaka

Should Ole Gunnar Solskjaer go straight for Palace’s Wan-Bissaka or steal the man they wish to replace him with?

According to reports, Manchester United have had a £40million bid rejected for Crystal Palace’s wonder kid right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who are holding out for a price in the region of £60million.

As a result of the pressure from big clubs showing a keen interest in Wan-Bissaka, Crystal Palace have been linked to the man who won Young Player of the Season award, Max Aarons, whose name featured in the overall EFL Team of the Season.

However, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal have joined the race in capturing the 19 years young full-back, Max Aarons. He is currently contracted at Norwich City who are asking for around £15million for his services.

Here are two reasons why Max Aarons may be a better signing for Manchester United than Aaron Wan-Bissaka…

After Crystal Palace countered Manchester United’s £40million offer for Wan-Bissaka to a much higher £60million, it may be the case that the two clubs do not see eye-to-eye on the value of the player. Crystal Palace’s interest in Max Aarons as a Wan-Bissaka replacement, as well as the accomplishments the young full-back as achieved already, shows that the top clubs believe that Aarons can or may evolve into a player that can provide the quality of service that Wan-Bissaka does.

Diogo Dalot

Diogo Dalot has been an exciting prospect for Manchester United, demonstrating value to the club in his first season with them. At only 20 years of age himself, the young Portuguese brought in by ex-manager Jose Mourinho proved pivotal to Manchester United at crucial moments. One example being the shot resulting in the penalty that saw Manchester United progress in the Champions League in their famous victory over PSG.

With both Dalot and Max Aarons in the side, there would be two promising young full-backs competing for the spot that will be left for the taking by the 33-year-old ex-winger and current full-back Ashley Young.
