3 Reasons why a return for former fan favourite wouldn’t be a bad idea for Man United

Man United fan favourite, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been linked with a move back to Old Trafford in the past. However, could now be a good time to get him back?

Zlatan is a Man United legend. He has gone on to have a great career.

Man United’s recent form hasn’t been great. It has improved slightly but they could benefit from having someone like Ibrahimovic back at Old Trafford.

While it may seem unlikey, weirder things have happened in football. Here’s three reasons why it would be a great idea to sign him again…

Ole wants a goalscorer

Marcus Rashford scored an incredible goal last night. This probably will make up for the poor form he’s been under recently.

However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer really wants a goalscorer. So why not Zlatan?

Open to return

He gets asked about his time at Man United all the time. In the past, he has said that he would be open to a return to Old Trafford.

If a deal could be made, it would also please fans. They would also value him more because he actually wants to play for the club.

The current Man United team is made up of a lot of youngsters. They could benefit from the experience Zlatan has.

He’s had spells at Ajax, Juventus, Barcelona, PSG and LA Galaxy. However’ Solskjaer has said that he would be more interested if the striker was 28, not 38.

‘Rashford can’t score a penalty or free kick until he plays us.’ Chelsea fans react to their Carabao Cup loss to Man Utd

Man Utd Rashford

Chelsea faced Man United last night in the Carabao Cup. Unfortunately, Frank Lampard’s side lost 2-1. Here are your reactions

Chelsea gave a penalty away to give Marcus Rashford his first goal of the night.

Luckily, Batshuayi managed to equalise. However, Marcus Rashford gave one of the best goals fans have seen in a long time.

He managed to score a free-kick from distance. Even Frank Lampard admitted that there was no stopping it.

Now Chelsea is out of the competition. However, at least it gives the young players time to focus on the Premier League.

Here are Chelsea fans reactions…

Man Utd looking at Brescia’s exciting 19y/o midfielder ‘Pirlo’

Man Utd is looking to steal a march on their competition by sending scouts to check out Brescia’s Italian 19-year-old Sandro Tonali – Dubbed the new ‘Pirlo’.

The highly-rated Tonali is only in his second season. Following his breakthrough campaign last term, as he helped Brescia promotion to Serie A.

With his style of play and style of haircut, many have labelled him the new Pirlo. This comparison holds some weight and puts a lot of pressure on the young man’s shoulders so early on in his career.

However, his fledging reputation has spiked a lot of interest from around the big European clubs. So much so, that Man United have sent their scouts out to monitor Tonali. As they bid to bring in the freshest and exciting talent to Old Trafford.

Having already made an appearance for the Italian international side, the hype continues to grow.

Brescia has already put a high 40m price on Tonali’s head, despite his 27m value (via Transfermarkt).

So far this season Tonali has one goal and 2 assists in his 10 appearances in all competitions. Tonali has six goals and 11 assists overall during his two seasons (63 apps) – which is not a bad return at all for 19-year-old.

With the big boys all sniffing around, Man United will have to act quickly if they are to make a move. Something United haven’t been the greatest at over the past few years.

A deep-lying playmaker with a Pirlo-esqe swagger is someone that would be welcomed at Old Trafford with open arms.

All but done: Man Utd January striker deal ‘agreed’

Man United looks to have agreed on a deal to bring Juventus 33-year-old Mario Mandzukic to Old Trafford in the winter window.

The red devils looked close to bringing the well-travelled striker to Manchester in the summer. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seemingly needs a striker to aid Martial and Rashford upfront, as Man United look to close the gap on the top four in the new year.

Mandzukic is out of favour in Serie A at the moment, and a bit-role in the Man United squad would be a very enticing move.

According to tuttomercatoweb.com, the deal to bring Mandzukic to Man United is not based on if Paul Pogba returns to the Old Lady. There are other avenues for that deal to go ahead. With the likes of Emre Can and Matuidi floating about alongside a monetary bid of around 100m Euros.

The signing of Mandzukic could be a masterstroke by Solskjaer. Looking back to Henrik Larsson, Teddy Sheringham and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, an experienced head can make all the difference to a team.

Many fans will agree that this season, Man United are lacking that experience on the pitch. Alongside a plan B. The Croatian would provide both on a short term level, and aid Solskjaer quest to bring back the glory years at Old Trafford.

Man Utd set to do battle with Liverpool & Arsenal over 22y/o midfielder

Man United are trying to cast their net far and wide in order to bring in the best talent possible to Old Trafford. Arsenal and Liverpool stand in their way of the highly-rated Denis Zakaria.

Borussia M.Gladbach defensive midfielder has caught the eye of many of the top clubs from around Europe and the Premier League. However Man United see to be keen on getting a deal wrapped up ahead of the competition as soon as possible.

At 22-years-old, Zakaria as 13 games under his belt this season in all competitions, scoring twice. The Swiss international has a pass success rate of 84.4% and an average game rating of 7.15. He’s not afraid to take a pop from range and is prone to dribble himself out of trouble.

Man United desperately needs to recruit in the midfield area. A defensive midfielder like Zakaria would be the perfect partner for Pogba, should he remain at Old Trafford, to express his skills further up the field.

According to the inside futbol, M.Gladbach are prepared to accept 50m for the player. Which is double what Transfermarkt value him at (25.20m). Either way, it’s a snip in today’s market should he live up to the hype. However, he could end up being a Fred.

With the likes of Bayern Munich, Tottenham, Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid all being linked to the midfielder. Man United needs to act swiftly if they are to stand a chance.

Chelsea need to play these 2 key men to beat Man United tonight

Chelsea will face Man United in the Carabao Cup tonight at Stamford Bridge. Here are two players who will help them beat the Red Devils.

Frank Lampard has a great team of youngsters at Chelsea. He will have the chance to show Man United what they’re capable of tonight.

There have been whispers about injuries in the Chelsea squad. However, Man United have also had to endure injuries throughout the season.

Chelsea still have a lot of talented options though. Attacking midfielder, Mason Mount is worth a mention.

However, here are two players that will be looking to impress against Man United tonight…

Tammy Abraham

Abraham is Chelsea’s top goal scorer so far this season.

He has been relied on a lot by Frank Lampard this season. However, tonight he will be looking to lead his team to a win.

Christian Pulisic

The right winger is another player who has been a top pick for Frank Lampard.

In Chelsea’s last game against Burnley, he managed to get a hat-trick. This should inspire him to try and score again tonight.

2 Man United youngsters that should impress tonight against Doncaster Rovers

Man United Under-21’s will face Doncaster Rovers tonight in the EFL trophy. The Football Manc Cave are picking out two youngsters who will be looking to impress.

Man United’s first team face Chelsea tomorrow night. The form at Old Trafford recently hasn’t been great.

The January transfer window can’t come soon enough for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

However, until that time comes he has been relying on youth squad members to develop into the first team.

Players like Brandon Williams, who is only 19 years old, have made it into the first team recently. It also looks like youngster, James Garner will be making it into that first team soon as well.

With the game against Doncaster tonight there will be a few youngsters looking to impress. They will want to move in the same directions as the other teenagers who have made it into the first team.

Tahith Chong

The Dutch 19 year old is close to breaking into the first team squad at Old Trafford.

However, the right winger hasn’t yet made it that far. If he makes it into the squad to face Doncaster tonight, he will want to show Ole Gunnar Solskjaer what he’s missing.

Angel Gomes

The 19-year old attacking midfielder is another player who will be looking to impress tonight. He will want to try and break into the first team at Man United.

He has risen through the youth ranks with Man United. Bosses at Old Trafford want to develop young home-grown talent.

Man Utd looks set to meet the 100m valuation of exciting Bundesliga youngster

Man Utd has once again been linked with former Man City youngster Jadon Sancho, who is currently plying his trade in the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund.

The 90m rated star is once again gaining interest from Old Trafford as the winter window looms ever closer. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has money to spend and according to the Mirror, the Red Devils are prepared to meet the 100m valuation set by Borussia Dortmund.

In his 8 games in the Bundesliga so far, Sancho has 6 assists and 3 goals. Creativity is something United is missing this season with the absence of Pogba through injury. Furthermore, with reported growing interest from Real Madrid for the Frenchman, OGS needs to start building alternative options.

Sancho is predominantly a right-winger, something Solskjaer needs within the team. Summer signing Daniel James is doing a great job, and impressing so far. However, United are missing depth and competition – something Sancho would bring to the table.

Open to a move

He’s said to be open to a move back to the Premier League, and the move would certainly go down well with the red side of Manchester.

In a bid to muster a fight for a top-four place, bringing the young English international to Manchester could be seen as a masterstroke. United need not worry about European football this season, it should be all eyes on regaining Premier League form and climbing back up the table.

Would Sancho swap the Champions League for Man United currently?

It’s a big task at hand, however, sometimes the pull of Old Trafford is too much for some players. Man Utd fans will be hoping this is the case for Sancho also.
