Man City should secure Champions League qualification with this midfield tonight

Pep Guardiola’s men face Atalanta away tonight in the Champions League. If Man City set up with this midfield, they should go through to the next round.

Man City are currently top of their Champions League group with 9 points. Pep Guardiola will want to qualify as quickly as possible.

However, he will have limitations tonight with a few players being out. Phil Foden is suspended and David Silva is injured.

Therefore, Man City will struggle in the middle. This is why he will probably go out with a 4-3-3 formation.

I predict that he will line up the midfield like this…

Gundogan

The centre midfielder’s form has been a lot better recently. Guarantee that he will be filling that central position this evening.

He will be aimig to guide the midfield forward while also assisting his team mates to a win.

Kevin De Bruyne

With David Silva being injured, De Bruyne will probably go out as captain.

He will also more than likely operate the left of midfield. However, the question will be, will he score, assist or both?

Bernardo Silva

David Silva will probably be replaced by Bernardo. All three will have to work together efficiently.

With my prediction for the formation would mean that there should be 3 players up front. I predict they will be Jesus, Aguero and Raheem Sterling.

Man City will be looking for a goal-fest against Southampton by playing these 3 players

Southampton will be travelling to the Etihad Stadium tomorrow for the second time this week. These 3 Man City players will be looking to find the back of the net.

Man City already faced Southampton in the Carabao Cup this week. They managed a 3-1 win.

However, their first half was much better than their second. The clash this weekend is important to Pep Guardiola’s side because they need to close the gap between them and Liverpool.

Southampton are currently 18th in the Premier League. This should realistically be an easy clash for Man City. They have already played them this week which should give them an insight to their weaknesses.

With that in mind, here’s 3 players who will be looking to score this weekend…

Kevin De Bruyne

If he doesn’t score a goal, he will certainly assist one. Or create a goal that someone else tries to claim.

Either way, he’s been unstoppable in all competitions so far this season.

Sergio Aguero

After watching Man City’s past few performances, I would much rather have Aguero over Jesus.

Sergio shouldn’t be on the bench. He should be starting because there are some chances every week which I believe he could have put away.

Raheem Sterling

Sterling has been on top form throughout the season. However, I think he could score more than once this weekend.

There have been some weeks were he has missed chances but if the full team are on point then he will benefit from it.

‘Tell Man City admin that it is legal to give Ederson man of the match.’ Man City fans react to their win.

Man City has their first Premier League game since the international break this weekend. They faced Crystal Palace away. The Football Manc Cave look at your reactions.

Pep Guardiola had a chance to turn things around with the international break. It looks like whatever he worked on paid off as the Blues won 2-0.

David Silva and Jesus were to thank for the goals. Silva also took man of the match. Phil Foden also got some minutes as he came on to replace Kevin De Bruyne. Although, it was Ederson that impressed fans the most.

However, both goals came in the first half. This suggests that things took a step back in the second half but a win is a win.

With Liverpool drawing with Man United, this also closed the gap at the top. The Premier League champions could be on their way back to the top.

Man City fans unhappy after they scrape win ‘Should have been 10. Pep out’

It was a huge day for Man City, their 125 years anniversary and a statement win against Watford.

After last weeks disappointing and shocking loss to Norwich, Man City fans expected a win today against Watford. That’s exactly what they got. Today also marked their 125 year anniversary which was shown on their social media pages as their theme was changed to an old vintage kind of look.

Raheem Sterling failed to make the starting line up which messed up a lot of people’s fantasy football, including me. Pep Guardiola knew what he was doing, as the goals just kept on coming. It was 5-0 in the first 18 minutes of the game. Here’s your reactions…

Sterling hat-trick, 5 goals & a clean sheet, and still Man City’s boss demanded more. Here are 2 things he would have learnt

The Football Manc Cave are looking at two things we learnt from watching Pep Guardiola’s Man City side that beat West Ham 5-0 at the weekend.

The opening weekend of the Premier League always brings surprises and the opening weekend of the league and this one was full of goals. With Manchester City’s closest competition, Liverpool winning 4-1 the night before, it was a goal war on the opening weekend to determine who would go to the top of the league at this early stage.

There was some VAR drama in the game although the decision was seemingly right and an awful penalty taken by Aguero got fans talking, it was a good job he got a chance to retake it.

So aside from these factors, what could be learned from the team’s performance this weekend?

Leroy Sané

When the news came in that Sané would be put for some time while he undergoes surgery due to an injury, it was a big blow. He had looked positive in pre-season and was expected to be a big part of the season for the Blues. Speculation started to grow to who would start and in what position for Man City.

I predicted that Sterling would drop to a wing position and Jesus could go upfront alone. This is exactly what happened and Man City still performed brilliantly. Jesus got on the score sheet and Raheem Sterling managed a hat-trick which was brilliant for my fantasy football team. This shows that the team can produce that same level of football without a key asset.

Training Standards

Off the back of my first point, this also proves that Pep Guardiola’s side has training standards higher than any other Premier League team. This is because other teams could have a player out injured and you’d be able to tell. With this Man City side, I honestly believe that there’s always someone else that can cover or drop into a position and perform to the same standard.

Look at when Kevin De Bruyne was out and Bernardo Silva had to reinvent himself, they still won the league. Vincent Kompany has left yet the defence is still tight. Guardiola apparently still had improvements that he wanted his squad to go over after Saturday’s performance, which is why his players always give it their all. The pressure clearly makes them strive and this is why they will win the league once again this season.

How Man City’s starting 11 could look against West Ham Utd

Pep Guardiola has been on a mini spending spree this summer with Man City bringing in a couple of new faces.

The back to back Premier League Champions have added a sprinkle of freshness in this summer transfer window. Which will be much needed as they aim to go for three titles in a row.

It all kicks off on August 10th against West Ham United. The Football Manc Cave takes a stab at the starting line up come 12:30…

Defence

Ederson is the obvious choice of ‘keeper but then it gets tricky. With Vincent Kompany’s departure at the end of last season, Man City have been on the lookout for a replacement so choosing the back four was a little difficult. However, I’ve gone with Kyle Walker, John Stones, Laporte and new signing, Angelino. Who has only just signed to the Manchester side again after spending some of his youth at the club.

Midfielders

Guardiola has a list of players to choose from when it comes to his midfield. Following his recent record-breaking signing, Rodri, it didn’t make the choices any easier. So Bernando Silva, Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva all should be able to help Rodri fit right into that midfield line up.

Forwards

I have then gone with Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling because, why wouldn’t you? That was probably the easiest part of the pick.

David Silva has stated how this may be his last season with the Manchester side so he has to be a big part of this squad. Not only will fans want to see him have an amazing climax with the club, but I’m also sure people are hoping that Rodri could learn a lot from him enough to fill his shoes.

I’ve generated this team with real-time signings. However, this transfer window has been no stranger to twists and turns as Pep’s team have been looking at players such as Joao Cancelo and Harry Maguire too. If any more signings do happen for the Manchester City, I’m sure this starting eleven will shift again although, for the time being, there are players like Delph and Zinchenko who can be back up plans.
