Is former Man City striker heading back to the Premier League with West Ham United?

According to The Mirror, former Man City and Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli could be on his way to West Ham.

West Ham have suffered enough this transfer window. Callum Wilson has been a player who The Hammers have kept an eye on all summer and he has now opted to stay at Bournemouth. Maxi Gomez was also a target who has now opted to move to Valencia rather than the Premier League. This summer has also seen the departures of Lucas Pérez, Andy Carroll and Marko Arnautovic.

This leaves West Ham now in need of recruits. The Mirror has reported that Manuel Pellegrini’s side has been offered free agent, Mario Balotelli. The odds have been favouring more and more towards the striker signing for the Hammers over the past few days.

When you look at Balotelli as a footballer, yes, definitely go ahead and sign him. He could be highly beneficial to West Ham and he would deliver as he’s used to the Premier League. However, the club, manager and fans have to consider Mario’s off-pitch reputation.

Man City days

The 28-year-old striker has an impressive form to look back on and I think all football fans remember him especially from his time at Man City. He was at the Manchester side from 2010 to 2013 and in his 54 appearances, he bagged 20 goals. From 2013-2014, he appeared 43 times and scored 26 times for AC Milan which found the interest of Liverpool. Unfortunately, he didn’t have a successful period there and they loaned him back to AC Milan. He only found the back of the net once in 20 games.

The past few years have seen a bit of an improvement as Balotelli spent 3 years with Nice. In 2019, he signed for Marseille where he scored 8 goals in 12 games. Only now, it’s looking like he could be let go for free.

Even though his transfer fee may not cost a penny, his wages probably will stack up so if a fee can be negotiated for the striker to be paid, he should be an exciting signing. Fans have been very divided on the player, as some believe he will be worth it for his football. Quite a few remember the reputation he made for himself and are quite put off.

Off the field

The Italian was known to be in a “training ground bust-up” with the ex-Man City manager, Mancini. Jose Mourinho once described him as ‘unmanageable.’ He drove into a women’s prison for a ‘look around,’ threw darts at a youth player during a training ground ‘prank’. There’s a list of things that have been reported that will probably never be cleared up to whether they’re true or not.

Some West Ham fans are saying that his behaviour has calmed down so he may be able to focus on playing football. However, only this week, The Sun reported that he paid a man £1800 to drive his moped into the sea.

What do you think West Ham fans?

Man Utd have 2 reasons why they should go for Chelsea midfielder

There are rumours of a transfer race for Chelsea midfielder, Tiémoué Bakayoko and Manchester United are one team named as being interested.

Today at the Football Manc Cave, we are looking at reasons why Man United should advance on signing him.

The 24-year-old has found himself in an unlikely transfer race with Arsenal, Man United and PSG all monitoring him in the hope to get his signature. He’s had a shaky start in his career, especially at Chelsea as he found himself in a couple of red card situations. As you can imagine, that didn’t leave the best impression on the fans and other teams.

The Frenchman spent last season on loan at AC Milan after his disappointing spell at Stamford Bridge. It was there where Bakayoko improved which explains the sudden development of interest. The ex-Monaco player is now in pre-season training and being watched by new Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard.

So if he does decide that a change would do him good, why should Ole Gunnar Solskjaer go all out for him?

He Will Give It His All

This might be an obvious statement to make. All footballers who want to make it should be putting 100% effort in. However, not only will he be determined to get appearances, but he will also want to prove his improving form.

When he played for Monaco in the 2016/17 season, in an interview, he revealed how he had been suffering from a knee injury. He had been having problems since 2015, although he only addressed the issue in 2017. He said, “people don’t know but throughout the whole of last season, I suffered because of my knee. I had to grit my teeth in every match.” Now that he appears to be over this, I’m sure he’ll give it his all even more.

Champions League

Man United missed out on qualifying for Champions League football at the end of last season. Fans will be hoping for a better campaign this football season that sees the Red Devil’s end up back where they belong. If they do, Bakayoko is no stranger to the competition. He was with Monaco since 2014 and in the 2016/17 season, he contributed to their Ligue 1 title win.

As an individual, he was then named in the 2016/17 UEFA Champions League squad of the season before he joined Chelsea for £40 million. Let’s just hope he wants to be a part of a Man United side that wants to fight to be a part of Champions League football, rather than being put off by the fact they won’t be playing it next season.

Wolves set for AC Milan swap deal; Who gets the better deal?

AC Milan have their eyes on Wolves’ Ruben Neves in an attempt to further strengthen their midfield

AC Milan recently acquired the services of midfielder Ismaël Bennacer, and have now set their sights on the Wolves midfielder who took the Premier League by storm last season.

Neves was crucial to the Wolves midfield, he ended the season with 4 goals and 3 assists, but his passing ability is what gave him the spotlight. He successfully averages over 55 passes per game in the Premier League.

However, should Neves make his way to Italy, it would be on the terms that André Silva headed off in the other direction.

Andre Silva

Silva has been linked to Wolves in the past but spent last season on loan to Sevilla where he netted nine goals in La Liga. However, Sevilla decided not to follow through with the €38million option to buy, hence his return to AC Milan.

Both midfielders possess great qualities. However, Ruben Neves’ ability to dominate the middle of the park has been proven to be successful in the Premier League. It played a pivotal role in Wolves securing a very impressive seventh place finish.

Hold on

Should Wolves want to continue to grow and climb the league table, it is important to hold onto the players that everyone else wants, as Neves has been linked with Manchester United also.

Portuguese striker Silva has been unable to break through into the AC Milan squad, as well as not impressing Sevilla enough to be kept there. However, it would be important for Wolves to sign a striker who can clinch a spot on the EPL Top Scorers list. As none of their players managed to last season, and Silva’s potential could result in over 10 goals for the club.

Wolves should either keep hold of Neves or demand a sweet penny for his services. With another season, or two, of dominating the Premier League midfield could see his price dramatically increase.

Hidden Gem: Man United target 16 y/o Ajax forward

Ajax ‘wonder-kid,’ Hossein Zamani could be leaving Holland and coming for the Premier League.

The future of the 16-year-old is currently a hot topic as website, Transfermarkt has changed his current club to ‘unknown.’ It also states that he is available on a free transfer. This has put clubs such as Man City, Man United, AC Milan, Leicester City and even Everton on red alert as he could become a potential signing for an English club.

The striker is rated as one of the most ‘promising young players in Europe,’ but there’s not a lot about him online. This may be due to his age and the fact he’s not had a senior moment, although teams seem to be interested in his skill and style of play. Here’s what we do know.

With help from Leicestershire Live, we can tell you that the youngster has come through Ajax’s youth ranks. He is a right footed-left winger who can also operate the right wing too. As well as his ability to cross and his skill, he can also shoot from range with a keen eye for goal. Zamani is yet to appear for Ajax’s first team, but he has made 43 appearances in the Eredivisie Under 17’s league and has one cap for the Netherlands under 15 teams.

If the news of him leaving his current club is true, then Premier League clubs will have a battle on their hands to sign the 16-year-old before the summer is over. When you read the gossip on this transfer possibility, there’s a quote flying around that Zamani wants a ‘new challenge.’ If that is true, it will now be a matter of which club for him.

His age will be a big factor of interest because he can be developed with clubs youth squads, loaned out and brought back whenever they want. Man United have had a bit of a challenge on their hands with nearly every player they’ve shown interest in this transfer window, and I feel like City will put in a bid because Pep Guardiola always has an eye for young talent. So we could see another battle of the Manchester rivals.
