Salford City have confirmed the signing of experienced forward Ian Henderson on a two-year deal.
He joins after spending seven and a half years with Rochdale. In that time he became the clubs second-highest all-time top goalscorer, notching up 126 goals for the Dale.
At 35, Henderson brings with him a wealth of league experience and joins Salford as they look to continue their push up the Football League pyramid.
With all the financial insecurities that have arisen around clubs in the EFL following the outbreak of CV-19. There was always a greater chance that players would be looking to join teams such as Salford, who certainly seem more financially stable than some of their rivals.
Of course, many opposition fans will be quick to point to Salford’s strong financial position as the main reason behind being able to lure players, such as Henderson, away from potentially joining clubs in a higher league.
