Before the summer is over, what should Oldham Athletic do in order to have a good League Two campaign?
The Latics managed to finish 14th last season and now they have a new manager, Laurent Banide. Fans don’t seem to be very optimistic about their clubs future or the manager so what should Oldham do before the season starts in order to please their fans and give the club some hope?
Give Banide A Chance
There’s been a lot of fans, especially on Twitter that has doubted the new manager’s position and really can’t see him doing well. The players and the fans should give him a chance to see if he can put the Latics on a good run and if he can’t, then definitely push for his departure. I would just say that sometimes managers can surprise you with how they handle the take over of a club.
Pre Season Preparation
The team started their first training session this week and fans commented on the lack of players in the pictures. Maybe a few more signings would help with the building of the squad but for what they do have, I hope they can develop into a good defensive side and produce goals. Which brings me into my next factor.
Clean Sheets and Goal Difference
Last season, Latics had a few games where they conceded a few goals but on the whole, they kept their goal difference very balanced. However, this season I hope they can keep more clean sheets because their league battle will be hard and goal difference can often determine a team’s positioning at the end of the season.
