Man Utd are in need of another creative asset in the midfield, particularly one young enough to develop under Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes.
Their alternatives currently are Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata and Andreas Pereira, all of which aren’t really performing to the heights of a team looking to win the Premier League…
As a result, Manchester United are being linked to creative midfielders, Jack Grealish being an example. However, it recently made the news in Italy that Manchester United are keen on signing 20-year-old Sandro Tonali from Brescia SC and have approached the club following a fantastic season for him in Serie A.
Sandro Tonali is having praises sung about him in Italy. Even the Juventus boss and Italian legend Andrea Pirlo has commented on the youngster’s ability, as many have compared the two.
In response to this he said: “He is another type of player. He is much more complete both in the defensive phase and when he sets up…”
But Pirlo admitted: “He is a mix between my characteristics and those of other players… He will surely become a great player.”
Will Tonali be a Red next season?
Although, Man Utd are currently prioritising the Jadon Sancho negotiation, which has been dragging on for weeks on end. This could result in the Reds missing out on ‘the next Pirlo’. Inter Milan are looking to loan the Italian youngster for a season, with the option to buy for around £31.5million.
Much like Man Utd, Inter are now a Champions League club with a lot of money to spend. Making both teams at the forefront of the race for his signature. Man Utd has the pull of being Man Utd. But Inter Milan could edge it should Tonali want to remain in Serie A to continue his development.
Should Man Utd come away with both Sancho and Tonali, it will be a very expensive transfer window. But certainly a significant one.
