In the immortal words of Manchester United great, Sir Alex Ferguson; It’s squeaky bum time. Nothing else illustrates how thin the margins that exist between Champions League Qualification and dropping into the Europa League.
Going by the fixtures list for the run-in of all the teams locked in the battle for these European places, Manchester United looked better positioned or at least their fixture list suggested that.
However, back to back home draws with a FA Cup semi-final elimination sandwiched between; definitely raises some doubts not only amongst the fans base but probably in the dressing room.
Yesterday’s performance against West Ham at Old Trafford had the makings of a tired squad, both physically and mentally. The key players in the squad have had lacklustre performances in back to back games. Take Bruno Fernandes for instance; he looks tired, nothing he has done in the last three seems to be clicking.
This obvious and evident tiredness can be placed at the doorstep of the manager; his refusal to rotate his squad since the restart is what is hurting the team and there’s the Europa League to still worry about.
Many Manchester United fans must be worried about Super Sunday; the Red Devils must avoid defeat at Leicester City to qualify for the Champions League.
While Sunday is still a few days away, we can flip through some of the reactions from the Social Media site, Twitter to make up our minds on what the United fan base is currently feeling…
