Manchester City progressed to the quarter-finals of the Champions League last night.
Man City beat the record 13-time winners of the competition, Real Madrid, 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium, giving them a 4-2 victory overall on aggregate.
Raheem Sterling put the hosts ahead. Gabriel Jesus stealing possession from Raphael Varane, before squaring the ball to Sterling for an easy finish.
Karim Benzema pulled one back for the Spanish Champions with a well-placed header following excellent work by Rodrygo down the right-hand side.
The tie was finely poised until Jesus capitalised on another Varane mistake.
His poor header back to goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois allowed the Brazilian to nip in and finish expertly.
The win for City sets up a quarter-final match against Lyon. The French side knocked out Juventus on away goals, despite losing 2-1 in the second leg.
The game will be played next Saturday in Portugal as the tournament moves to one country for the remainder of the competition.
