Real Betis are open to offers for their 22-year-old left-back Junior Firpo, Manchester United and Liverpool are leading the race for him.
Both Manchester United and Liverpool have their eyes on Junior Firpo, whilst he is currently partaking in the under 21 Euros for Spain.
Last season, Firpo proved his place in Real Betis as the young full-back enjoyed 29 games, getting himself 3 goals and 5 assists in all competitions. Compared to Luke Shaw’s 1 goal and 5 assists over 40 appearances last season in all competitions.
Firpo has 34 career games in the left-midfield position and 12 career games at centre-back. Which not only demonstrates his versatility, but also his ability to attack and defend, an important trait needed in Premier League full-backs.
Manchester United and Liverpool are both seeking the left-back in order to provide support and competition to the men who start in that position for each club; Luke Shaw and Andy Robertson.
However, Liverpool may be willing to out-spend Man Utd on this occasion as, according to Liverpool Echo, Liverpool aren’t set for huge signings with ‘Klopp happy to merely tweak a squad‘ that won the Champions League last season. Whereas with Manchester United, Solskjaer and his fans in red are hoping for a huge £200million overhaul of their currently failing squad, meaning there may be other priorities for him and his budget.
