How do Man Utd line up with 33yo and 20yo stars in the ranks?

Jadon Sancho

With the recent form of Man Utd as a collective, they already look on the way to closing the gap more and more between themselves and their rivals; Man City and Liverpool.

However, should the Reds pull off this double transfer they could be going toe-to-toe for the top medals in the immediate future…

Man Utd are looking further bolster their attacking force after heavy links to Borussia Dortmund’s 20-year-old star Jadon Sancho. The Reds would have to pay in excess of £100million for the Englishman, which is to be expected after what he has produced over the past two seasons.

However, news recently broke of a clash between Barcelona’s new Dutch manager Ronald Koeman and their greatest ever player Lionel Messi, leaving his future up in the air.

Not many clubs in the world could afford the services of Lionel Messi, who’s release clause stands at a reported 700million euros. One club who could, however, is Manchester United. Whose global appeal and recent return to the Champions League could generate the pull needed to put Messi in a red shirt.

Should this be the case, as well as gaining the services of the up and coming Jadon Sancho, Solskjaer’s first-team line up could look something like this…

Jadon Sancho

The introduction of Jadon Sancho will not only fill the number 7 shaped hole at Old Trafford but will diversify Man Utd’s attack abundantly. Imagine having your number one right-winger being the world-famous and feared Jadon Sancho, with the hungry and talented stars Mason Greenwood and Dan James snipping at his heels for first-team football.

This would elevate the team to the next level. There has already been dramatic improvement since Solskjaer’s philosophies have settled in, but Man Utd truly need more quality and expertise in order to go a level up.

Lionel Messi

It hasn’t often worked out when Man Utd have purchased big, household names in recent years. A series of examples flos to mind, Angel Di Maria, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Falcao, and more recently Alexis Sanchez.

However, much like with Paul Pogba or Zlatan Ibrahimovic, there are some players that have such immense quality that even faults in their attitude can be dismissed due to the sheer level of quality they add to the side.

Should Man Utd be looking to close the gap on their rivals much quicker than intended, then shelling out on these two stars is a good way of making that statement.
