Curzon could be in for a tough few matches over the Christmas period, and with the Nash sitting not so pretty, just four points from the drop they need to make up some ground and fast.
Chorley are going to be a tough team to beat and are looking like strong contenders for promotion and while grabbing points from them is valuable, however, beating Ashton twice could have a huge bearing on their season.
There are two Tameside Derby’s on Boxing Day. Non-league darlings Stalybridge Celtic (seriously do anyone barring Hyde fans dislike them?) are taking on Hyde and Curzon host Ashton United (the other leg of this fixture is being played on New Year’s Day).
Ashton United are, of all the Nash’s fixtures over the festive period, arguably their best chance to grab three points. Ashton are languishing in the drop zone (something Curzon are not totally clear of themselves), and have their own issues this season. This could be a must-win game for the Nash, and perhaps the same could be said for the reverse fixture a week later.
Six points a week apart from each other at a congested time would be a huge help and give Mark Bradshaw a bit of a cushion, while he works out what to do next with this inherited side.
However, fail to pick up these points and the Nash could find themselves battling to avoid the drop.
