Forget Mandzukic: Man United should focus on going for this 32 y/o striker instead
Earlier this week, The Football Manc Cave addressed the rumours the Mario Mandzukic could be moving to Man United. Now, according to The Manchester Evening News, Edinson Cavani could also be on the wanted list.
Man United have highly been linked with the Juventus star all week. However, new reports suggest that Edinson Cavani could be on his way to Old Trafford.
It’s a sensible option for Solskjaer as January will be a busy time for the biggest Premier League clubs.
Although, both players are in their 30’s and that should be considered. Solskjaer should choose one or the other.
The Uruguay international is out of contract in the summer meaning Man United could wait and get him for free. However, that doesn’t rule out the possibility of a January move from PSG.
Tuchel has confirmed that he is unsure of the strikers plan ahead of their fixture with Nice.
He’s also said that it’s too soon to be speaking about such things but he’s sure that Edinson is speaking with Man United.
The decision will ultimately come down to the player himself with his contract being up next year.
When you look at Cavani’s stats on WhoScored, he comes out on top.
At 32 years old, he has a rating of 6.76 for a Ligue 1 player. His pass success rate comes out as 67.3%. They have given him a 7.20 mark overall. Holding on the ball and his finishing are his strongest characteristics.
However, 33-year-old Mandzukic doesn’t have enough game time to produce him any stats. The only thing they list is his strongest characteristics. They are his ability to hold the ball, headers and defensive style of play.
