Forget Luis: Man City & Man Utd should do battle over this powerful youngster instead

The Football Manc Cave have already explained how Man United have joined the race for Benfica midfielder, Florentino Luis. Now we are looking who else could be considered.

The Mirror revealed how Florentino Luis has drawn comparisons to Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante which made him a wanted man for some big clubs. Pep Guardiola is one man rumoured to want to sign the 20-year-old midfielder and now Man United have supposedly joined that battle.

However, they’ll have a tough fight on their hands with how they currently appeal to players. If you were a footballer ready for a move and you had two clubs making you an offer. One who were winning trophies and battling for the top of the league and the other still trying to find their feet and gel as a team while not winning anything for a while – who would you go to?

This is why Man United need to go for players who might want a change and Old Trafford to be that change. Bearing that in mind, Leicester City’s man could be perfect…

Wilfred Ndidi

A 22-year-old midfielder who is arguably one of the best tacklers in his league. He currently plays for Leicester and fits in comfortably there. He’s previously played for Genk and the only other team he’s explored at is the Foxes. Therefore, Man United could be a realistic option if he wanted to have a change in his career soon.

It would be a great signing if Man United could tempt him and pull it off. The only thing is, good rising players always come with other clubs wanting them, so City could also end up interested as they are currently in the running for Luis proving that they are looking at midfielders.

His current contract also doesn’t end until 2024. However, on the plus side, back in June, The Manchester Evening News reporter that Ndidi has heard clubs like United and Arsenal were looking at him, and he admitted he was ‘flattered’ by the interest which means it could always be a possibility.
