This week our Spotlight On is on the return of the Champions League.
We went out and about to interview Emmy, a Man City fan to reminisce about Champions League memories, her first match and looking forward in the UCL…
Football Team: Manchester City
How Long Have You Supported Your Team:
Forever! It’s a family thing, I went to my first game when Alan Ball was managing, I’d have been 4 or 5.
What is Your First UCL Match and Memory:
Shamefully the first game champions league game I went to was to see them play Shakhtar Donetsk at the Etihad last season. European football largely wasn’t something that I found that interesting for a while but watching Ronaldinho at Barcelona in the early 2000s on the telly really caught my interest.
What’s your prediction for your team in the UCL this season?:
I’m confident City will get through the group and knock out stages with the minimum of fuss, but you really do bump into the best in the world then and, compared to last season they haven’t quite looked as ruthless and clinical yet.
I hope I’m wrong!
