It is being said that Manchester City’s Fabian Delph has a number of clubs looking at signing him before the transfer window closes. The Football Manc Cave are exploring the possibility of Everton being his next move.
The midfielder, who is also comfortable as a left back, still has a year remaining on his current contract with Pep Guardiola’s side. Although it is believed that he has been told he can leave this summer. Man City are yet to receive any bids for the 29-year-old but they are expected to come flooding in soon.
With Everton apparently being one of the clubs interested. The Football Manc Cave take a look at what he’s achieved so far, and how he will help the Toffees if there is a possibility of them signing him.
He started his youth career with Bradford City and Leeds Utd before signing a professional contract with Leeds in 2006. In 2009 he joined Aston Villa where he spent the next 6 years signed to the club. However, in 2012, he went back on loan to Leeds. It wasn’t until 2015 that he signed for Manchester City. Delph has also been called up to the England team on 20 occasions.
Everton had a successful run last year as they finished 8th in the Premier League. Now it looks like they are trying to strengthen their squad with experience, so they can keep up in the top half of the table next season. Andre Gomes and Jonas Lossl have both already put pen to paper for the Toffees and now Marco Silva could be about to get one more signature.
With Delph evidently falling short of being favourited at the Etihad, it’s clear that he may be interested in moving somewhere that he can get game time. If he does receive bids from a number of teams, which I’m sure he will, he would have a hard choice to make.
Delph will be a welcomed addition to the ever-improving Everton side. His Premier League know-how can only aid Silva in his quest to better last season final position.
