Hyde United today announced the signings of centre half Tom Morris and striker Louis Myers.
24-year-old Morris has arrived from Congleton, where he has spent the
last three seasons, before he had a short spell in Ireland and started
his career at Port Vale.
On signing for the club Tom Morris said;
”I’m over the moon, I’ve been training here three or four weeks now and I know John McCombe and Kingsley James well from my time at Port Vale. I’m just over the moon to get it done and can now start preparing for the season, the facilities here are amazing and I’m looking forward to the step-up”
On signing the defender manager, Dave McGurk said;
”Tom is a left-sided ball-playing centre half which will give us a bit of balance, he’s impressed on the ball in the small group sessions that we’ve had and then as we’ve up the training he’s shown he’s got the physical side as well”
Striker Louis Myers joins after spells last season at Radcliffe, Prescot
Cables and FC United. The forward said;
”I know I’ve got goals in me, last season injuries killed me but I’m fighting fit now and ready to go.”
On Myers, McGurk said;
”He’s the centre forward that we’ve been looking for, everyone knows he’s got all the ability it’s about getting it right off the pitch, he’s just had a little baby so hopefully, that will settle him down, we’ll give him the environment to flourish here and we feel he can get us that 20-25 goals for the season.”
