Bolton Wanderers’ fans demand striker in landslide poll

Eoin Doyle

The Football Manc Cave put out a Twitter poll yesterday to Bolton Wanderers’ fans, in which Swindon Town’s Eoin Doyle won by a landslide.

Bolton Wanderers, since the appointment of former Barrow manager Ian Evatt, has been linked with numerous players coming to the University of Bolton Stadium.

The Football Manc Cave gave Bolton fans three options.

Eoin Doyle is a clear favourite amongst the Trotter’s fanbase and it’s clear to see why Bolton would want the striker

Goals

Last season alone for Swindon Town, he hit the back of the net 26 times in 34 outings, his best scoring season to date. According to WhoScored.com, his stats are 153 goals in 453 appearances for the Irish striker across ten clubs.

Bolton will need a striker with experience down at League Two level, following their relegation from League One. Doyle topped the scoring charts last season with 25 goals in the league alone, helping Swindon top the table as Champions.

Experience

The 32-year-old comes with plenty of experience in the bank, from playing in a host of leagues. Doyle’s career has seen him range from the Irish Premier, The Scottish Premiership to the EFL Championship…and he has scored goals in them all.

Having played for the likes of Sligo Rovers, Chesterfield, Bradford City, Oldham Athletic, Cardiff City & Portsmouth to name a few. Doyle could be that one signing that will make the difference to get the Whites straight out of the basement league and back on an upward curve.

Let’s hope this season is the season things finally turn around for Bolton after a dreadful few years for the loyal fan base.
