2 Man City women fringe players that should be given a chance this weekend

Man City women are doing great in every competition. However, The Football Manc Cave are looking at two of their players who Nick Cushing could take a chance on this weekend.

In recent weeks, Man City women have been battling it out with Everton to go top of the Women’s Super League. A few weeks in and the tables have turned. Now it’s Arsenal who are back at the top.

Nick Cushing’s side is joined on points, however, goal difference separates the two teams. This weekend, Man City face Birmingham City Ladies. While they’ll be looking for all three points, they also have the Champions League to keep in mind.

With this being said, the Manchester side could take this as an opportunity to use some of their players who don’t usually start.

Here’s two that I’ve picked out…

Lauren Hemp

The 19-year-old striker is someone who is making a name for herself. She has had appearances for Man City before. However, she is regularly used as a substitute. This could be a chance to start her.

The teenager managed to impress this week when she debuted for England’s Lionesses against Portugal. It looks like she is out to impress Nick Cushing.

Tyler Toland

The 18-year-old midfielder is a relatively new Man City signing. She only signed a contract in August and has made it to the bench for most games. It would be nice to see her start a game.

She might get a chance this weekend as Jill Scott is currently injured. If she doesn’t recover in time for the weekend clash, Toland could potentially get a game.

It will be interesting to see which team Cushing’s puts out. A few have had international duties this week and some are hoping for more game time. However, the winning streak is something to build on and the Man City boss will want all three points.
