These 4 winter signings will transform Man Utd into top 4 contenders

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has one big task in January for Man Utd, and that is to rectify the mistakes in the summer window.

Man United clearly failed in summer bringing in the right recruits and were once again scrambling around the last knockings of deadline day. There has to be a better plan in place come January, one that will finally see the Red Devils ruthless in the market.

Going back to Liverpool a few windows ago, the reds had Virgil Van Dijk done and dusted by one minute past the opening of the winter window. Klopp has never looked back since.

Getting 4 signings done in such efficient style is a tall order, especially for Ed Woodward. However, Man Utd and Solskjaer can not afford to be kicking the can in the playground once everyone has gone back into school.

These 4 signings would transform a very depleted United side…

Declan Rice

The West Ham man has been on United’s radar for a while. He has shone for the Hammers in recent times and would fit the young and British criteria Solskjaer is looking for.

A player to play in a deep-lying midfield role, allowing the likes of Pogba to roam free. Alongside being an upgrade on the 50m flop Fred.

Kalidou Koulibaly

The Napoli defender has long been touted as a future Old Trafford player. For many reasons, the move has not materialised. However, the hierarchy sees Koulibaly as the ideal partner for Harry Maguire.

Whilst Lindelof is more than capable of filling the role. Koulibaly’s experience certainly should play a huge part in moving United in the right direction

Christian Eriksen

Tottenham Hotspur seems to be in a little freefall themselves this season. Rumours continue to circulate over the future of the midfielder, and many Man Utd fans would love his future to be at Old Trafford.

Proven in the Premier League, an assist king alongside being able to find the back of the net – he sounds a dream!

Mario Mandzukic

Not a popular choice, however, Man Utd need an old head up front to lead the line with youth all around him.

A plan B for Solskjaer, something at the moment he doesn’t have. even though he is heading into his twilight years, the Juventus forward as been around the block in Europe with some big clubs.

A decent goal scoring record to boot, this could be a masterstroke. Think Sheringham, Larsson and Ibrahimovic.
