Who’s Man City’s Noah Ohio & Why Should They Be Trying To Keep Him

Should Pep Guardiola let Noah Ohio follow in Jadon Sancho’s footsteps?

Much like Noah Ohio, a 16-year-old striker of English and Dutch citizenship, Jadon Sancho was part of Manchester City’s youth set-up from 2015 to 2017, when he rejected a new contract in order to join the German giants Borussia Dortmund. Who finished only 2 points behind the Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich in the 2018/19 season.

Fast forward 2 years and Jadon Sancho is one of the world’s most sought after players, being valued at around £100million at only 19 years of age, as interest from the best teams in world football are chasing his signature.

Noah Ohio has also rejected a contract from Manchester City and is on the verge of signing with RB Leipzig, who comfortably achieved a third-place finish in the Bundesliga behind Dortmund and Bayern Munich.

The 16-year-old striker has played 4 games for Netherland’s Under 16 squad and has bagged himself 4 goals in those games, he knows where the back of the net is, much like his superior Sergio Aguero. With the assumption that Noah Ohio can follow suit in the rapid progression that Jaden Sancho had when exposed to first team football, Manchester City would do well to hold onto this prolific young striker and develop him into a suitable replacement for the 31-year-old superstar Sergio Aguero.

It is clear that teams in the Bundesliga are seeking out young English talent, with the likes of Jonjoe Kenny joining Schalke on loan from Everton, West Ham’s Reece Oxford to Borussia Monchengladbach and Augsburg and Arsenal’s Reiss Nelson at Hoffenheim, and now Noah Ohio being strongly linked to RB Leipzig.

Manchester City allowing a future star to leave could hurt them financially, as he may go on to be an £80million plus player like Jadon Sancho, the least they could do is attempt to gain a sell-on clause in order to reap some rewards of the young blooming talent.

Noah Ohio is definitely one to watch, it would not be surprising to see him being linked to the top clubs in the next few years, fetching a hefty price.
