Man City Is The Perfect Move For Derby County’s Liam Delap – Agree?
The news of a possible move for Liam Delap had broken yesterday and that move could be to Manchester.
The 16-year-old striker has supposedly impressed City as he has been a key part of Derby’s under 18’s title win. He has also been named as an “England youth sensation.” Delap already has a really successful set of stats behind him for a teenager, he managed to get the golden boot in Turkey at the Mercedes Benz Aegean Tournament, he scored in Derby’s under 18’s 6-0 win against Wolves and his dad is the former Rams player and coach, Rory Delap.
It’s no wonder that Delap has been looked at by the Premier League champions but if the youngster did move to City, he would start in their development squad and Derby would also be due some compensation as part of the FIFA solidarity payments scheme.
I think City are one of the most tactical and sensible teams when it comes to signings. Looking at the young talent and investing in players early, is pleasing to see as a player comes through the youth teams and eventually ends up training with the first team. It’s not as daunting for a player to just throw them in at the deep end with a new club. If the blues do sign the youngster and it doesn’t work out in the long run, even having him on the team should value him at a large amount if it should come to letting him go.
Like any team during this transfer window, every club is keeping their options open, and looking for new signings before the start of the season. However, Pep Guardiola also has the departure of Vincent Kompany on his hands and now talks of David Silva also on his way out of the club.
Now is a perfect time to start building their youth team so they can replace their legends. City would be a great move for the 16-year-old because it seems like when a player joins the club and is successful, they seem to spend a long time there. Silva and Kompany are both celebrating 10 years with the Manchester side, and I hope to see more youth players end up being title winners with the club.
