Rochdale Have a Great Chance To Gather Upward Momentum With These 2 Playing Today

Rochdale have a great chance to start to climb the table in the remainder of this month as I’ve previously mentioned.

I believe that starts today against Plymouth and these are 2 players I think should start the game as I believe they will only serve to strengthen Rochdale’s chances…

Aaron Morley

Aaron has found himself unlucky to have not had more game time this season down to factors mostly out of his control. He is competing for a midfield slot with a lot of players with; MJ Williams, Callum Camps, Oli Rathbone, David Perkins, Andy Cannon and Dan Adshead all competing for starts in the centre of midfield and Aaron seemingly has found himself back of that list which won’t of been helped by the real continued emergence of Adshead this season.

He has been forced to take his chances in the little Checkatrade Trophy action he has got this season, starting in games against Bury, Fleetwood and most recently Oldham.

I felt he had a good game when I saw him against Bury but he was out shadowed by debuting Luke Matheson that night, but Morley apparently had a really good game against Oldham the other night putting in what some deemed a Man of The Match performance.

Could he be about to get his chance in the league this weekend? I think he should do as I feel he deserves his chance and his performances when given the opportunity seem to back up my opinion.

Zach Clough

The most recent information I have been able to find on Zach Clough is that as of the 1st of December he was injured and in Keith Hill’s words he “keeps running into small injuries” so without any more recent information its fair to assume he is still injured.

But for the purposes of the article lets assume he is fit as even before his injuries he was only seemingly on the fringes of the first team struggling to get minutes, a lack of impact that many of the fans didn’t expect when he signed.

Now from what I have seen of Zach when he has played, you can tell at times he’s that cut above in terms of quality when he tries to make things happen and runs at defenders which is what you want.

I think he’s a very useful player to have on the pitch and is one of those that could come up with that moment of magic when required, but for whatever reason since his arrival he hasn’t had a run of games in the side only making bit part appearances and more recently unable to make the bench due to injury.

I think if he was to be available for selection he should have a role in the starting 11 on Saturday as I think he could play a useful role in unlocking Plymouth’s defence.
