Bury’s draw at Cambridge Showed Us That They Are Still Shaky On The Road.

At times, picking up a point away from home is a good result. However, when your two-nil up after just 26 minutes and have a man advantage for the majority of the second half, Saturday’s draw feels like a loss.

Having missed out on an opportunity to go as high as 3rd place in League Two, let alone the play-off places.

Struggles on the road?

Yet on the road it wouldn’t be a problem to question their form. Just three wins on the road so far this not exactly the form required to get Bury promoted.

Bury should have put this three points to bed yesterday. Nicky Maynard’s effort which hit the bar when Bury was two nil up proved a turning point before Cambridge struck the killer blow.

The Shakers will have to learn to finish the job, frustration is becoming their biggest concern on the road this season.

These comments were echoed by Lowe post-match yesterday. ‘We didn’t put chances to bed we created yesterday and the goals we conceded were preventable from our point of view’.

Shaky defence?

Is it hard to work out why Bury are struggling to pick up three points on the road? Their shaky defence at times is a huge factor.

The Shakers look stronger at the back at times, Lowe’s decision to go with a back three and wing backs does a fairly decent job for reducing the number of goals that are conceded.

However, there is an obvious weakness, something Cheltenham Town amongst others will look to exploit in the upcoming future tomorrow night.

Bury have been beating teams at the lower end of the table, perhaps when Bury’s defence comes up against their fellow rivals in League Two we will know just how strong this side is.
