The Football Manc Cave are looking at 2 reasons why Hearts defender, Aaron Hickey would be a good fit at Man City.
The Sun has revealed how Man City are targeting the Hearts full-back after he has become of interest to Pep Guardiola. The article has explained how May’s Scottish Cup final gave the 17-year-old a chance to shine and be noticed by the City boss.
Man City and Hearts have formed a recent development relationship which has seen the likes of Ryotaro Meshino go on loan to the Scottish side, and this could be the start of another move that could add the teenager to Manchester City’s development squad.
Here are two reasons why Guardiola should push to see this happen…
Hickey was only 16 when he made his debut and was thrown in at the deep end. Now he’s 17 and is one of few Hearts players to impress. This can only be a positive as he has time to develop and grow in his career. Man City is the perfect option for him to do that as the training given to players at the Manchester side is exceptional. It may be hard and there’s definitely a fight to impress and earn your spot in such a talented side, however, it’s worth the experience at a young age in terms of growing in your career.
As well as his young age being a great factor, Man City should also try to sort a deal before any other clubs get involved. Man City would already be really tempting for such a young player and a move in the right direction in terms of his career. However, The Sun also reported that Southampton has been noted to be interested in the youngster.
If City can get in there first, especially since they have such a good relationship with the Scottish side, they could make a great signing that only gets better with time. I’m sure more will come out of this in the next few days.
